2017-2018 Season

Set in 1963 Louisiana, a provocative story of political change, social change... and pocket change.

Written by Lake Charles native Tony Kushner, Caroline, or Change takes place in Lake Charles in 1963. Caroline, the African-American maid of the Gellman family, is a single mother of four. When a small amount of money goes missing, buried tensions threaten to rip two families — and the struggling Caroline — apart. Set during the civil rights movement, this musical masterpiece combines spirituals, blues, Motown, classical music, and Jewish klezmer and folk music.

Dashing Through the Snow

It's four days before Christmas in the tiny town of Tinsel, Texas, and a colorful parade of eccentric guests arrive at the Snowflake Inn and deck the halls with holiday hilarity. Trina, the harried yet upbeat innkeeper of this B&B, has more than she can handle coping with these nuttier-than-a-fruitcake lodgers.

Shrek the Musical

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.
